It’s hard to believe tomorrow marks one year since the devastating earthquake struck Haiti. Whenever these awful natural disasters happen, I am always struck by how our country comes together to help those in need. It is amazing to me that people from all walks of life can, for a few weeks or months, all work together for a common cause.
The people of Haiti have begun to rebuild, but they still need our help.
Enter: Heart of Haiti
Heart of Haiti is an initiative founded by Willa Shalit and FairWinds Trading, along with a partnership with Macy’s, that will provide an artisan’s family with nutrition, education for their children, and bring access to healthcare and dignity.
Basically, FairWinds Trading connects people, especially women, who make goods with people who will buy those goods.

This is one of the most unique jewelry hangers I have ever seen, and I adore it. I don’t have enough jewelry to require a jewelry hanger, but if I did, I would buy this in a heartbeat. And it’s only $35. That makes me want to buy it even though I don’t need it.
You can see all of the items in the Heart of Haiti campaign here. Go. Take a look. And remember that your shopping spree is helping save the people of Haiti.
